Sector3 Games FAQ
Attention! - 13-02-2008
If you are planning on updating your version of (Leopard) OSX.5 to OSX.5.2, please be aware that the graphics update in OSX.5.2 may have broken some shader support for older graphics cards like the Radeon 9000. It also may cause issues with some shaders and shadows on newer graphics cards.
We highly recommend not updating to OSX.5.2 if you have older spec graphics hardware, until a solution is provided by Apple, or keep this in mind if you see any visual issues with our games before emailing a support question.
What are the optimum settings to play our games?
Though we don't restrict you from playing our games at any resolution or quality setting, we optimise our games to run at 1024x768 in beautiful quality mode.
We give you Game Options to allow you to increase and descrease the visual quality of our games, IF YOUR MACHINE CAN SUPPORT IT. Please understand that the more you crank up the game resolution, quality settings and the more features you turn ON in the game options screen, the slower your game will run, possible making it NOT work at all or run too slow to play.
If you are experiencing slow game performance, please lower your settings BEFORE you email support with an issue.
Do you support older hardware?
Well, we test our games to make sure they run on machines as old as eMac's and Pentium 2.4 computers, but our games may not perform outstandingly on these specifications. Your best gauge of how well our games will work on your hardware is to download the demo version before you buy.
Are you making more games, or is this it?
Yes, we are not only updating our current games, but creating fantastic new titles. We are not prepared to talk about our new titles yet, but we are currently preparing a Blog for our website and plan to "accidentally" let tid bits slip about our latest developments our Blog should go live before the end of the year.
Why do you offer family pack licensing on your games that are not multi-player?
Well, just because some of our games are not multi-player, it doesn't mean that you shouldn't get a discount for buying more than one license. Our family pack offers you a great value choice where you can own three licenses for the price of two, and use them on either Mac or PC. Most homes these days have more than one computer, so we wanted to offer a fair prices solution to those that want to run our games on more than one machine.
Why do you have such strict licensing?
Well, as much as we love making games for everyone to enjoy, it costs us a lot of money to develop them, so we need to ensure our hard work isn't destroyed by the small group of software pirates that love to crack games like ours and distribute them for free.
So, if I buy a single license, can I not install it on more than one machine?
Yes, you can move your single and family pack licences around, you just cant play a single licence game on more than one machine at a time.
Do you offer refunds?
We do not offer refunds on our games once they have been activated. We offer very generous demo versions of our games for our potential customers to get a solid understanding of the quality and game play before buying. We will consider refunds on games that have not been activated due to activation issues or situations where the game is un-playable. This will be at our discretion.
Your site wont accept my credit card and I know there is nothing wrong with it.
Though we accept VISA and MASTERCARD payments through out payment gateway, sometimes for un-foreseen reasons your credit card may be knocked back, even though you know it is ok with plenty of credit on it. If this happens to you, please choose to pay via PAYPAL and when prompted on the PAYPAL site, select to pay view credit card instead of logging in.
